Communications through light and about light. Don't miss EILD 2019!
Feb 27 2019
The programme will combine talks and workshops that will address essential topics on lighting design (about light) with activities and interventions where lighting will be used as a mean to communicate (through light). Mark Major (Speirs and Major, UK) and Nathalie Rozot (PhoScope, USA) are two of the top names on the list of international speakers. Likewise, the activities will be led by renowned lighting designers and will deal with essential topics such as natural light, the perception of light, the creative process, urban lighting, etc. among others.
The EILD began in 2010 in Valparaiso (Chile), and was held in Queretaro (Mexico) in 2012, Medellin (Colombia) in 2014, and Ouro Preto (Brazil) in 2016. The target has always been to build spaces where lighting professionals and lovers can reflect and exchange as well as learn, experiment and share ideas among them in Ibero-America, although the long-term goal is to expand the event to the entire world.
The 2019 edition will undoubtedly be very special, as it will take place in the city of Colonia del Sacramento, located on the banks of the Rio de la Plata and regarded as the oldest city in Uruguay. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995.
